Suffolk Story on Suffolk Sound Radio with Chloe Rivers

2026 is very much a year of firsts for both Hannah and I. The first book we've published, the first time we've appeared in local press, and recently the first time we've both appeared on the radio!

We've done a couple of press interviews, but radio felt different as it was live, that made us a both a bit nervous, although admittedly mainly because we were both worried about swearing live on air!

On a sunny Wednesday evening we made our way over to the Suffolk Sound Studio to sit down with Chloe Rivers for her 8-10pm slot, to talk all things Suffolk Story, the hospitality scene and a how and earth we both ended up writing a book together.

I was a little worried we wouldn't have enough to say but turns out we could have chatted for hours.

We spoke about some of our favourite spots, listeners will have found out that I don't actually drink coffee (Which comes as more of a shock to people than I expected), why we think Suffolk is so special from a hospitality point of view and why we took the book route vs a blog or anything else.

I think we managed to name drop just about everyone in the book as well!

A massive thank you to Chloe for inviting us in, making us feel super welcome and comfortable! You can listen back to our interview (complete with some excellent tunes in between us talking) by visiting our home page.

Key takeaways:

  1. We managed not to swear!

  2. I really want my own radio jingle after hearing Chloe's one!

  3. Maybe we should do a podcast?
